Great photos are only possible with great preparation
Exterior of the Home
- Remove the car from the driveway.
- Mow the lawn and remove weeds from the garden.
- Remove moss and green algae from the tiles/paving.
- Sweep the terraces and paths, as well as the sidewalk.
- Remove debris from the roof.
- Hide the trash cans out of sight.
- Add some planters or flowers if possible.
- Check the paintwork on the front door and window frames.
General Interior
- Ensure the floor in every room is clean.
- Open all curtains.
- Close all doors and windows.
- Clean all windows and mirrors.
- Ensure rooms are not overcrowded with furniture.
- Remove playpens, child seats, and toy boxes.
- Hide pet beds and food bowls (dog/cat) out of sight.
- Empty trash cans and remove any ashtrays.
- Put away personal items.
- Try to create a cozy, tidy atmosphere.
Bathroom / Toilet
- Clean the toilet and close the lid.
- Preferably no extra stock of toilet paper in sight.
- The toilet roll should be neatly “rolled up.”
- Remove any limescale around the fixtures.
- Ensure the grout between the tiles is clean.
- Put away personal care products.
- Preferably no hanging towels, or choose neutral colors.
- Place a small plant on a shelf or windowsill.
Final Check shortly before the appointment…
- Walk through your home as if you were a potential buyer.
- Is everything clean and tidy?
- Optionally light candles and/or the fireplace.
- Ensure there are no dogs or cats in the house.
- Move the car off the driveway.
- Is the interior photo-ready?
- Ensure that nothing else needs to be moved!
